I painted this one in 2023, but feel like it fits into this series of paintings inspired by finding the light in the darkness. The sky is so often concealing the light above the clouds. The title of this painting, “Pulling Down the Sky” feels like a protest against sadness.

I am happy to be offering these paintings as part of a fundraiser, to raise money to donate to a student in need. I hope to be A Light in the Darkness for someone who is trying to make their lives and the world a better place by gaining an education. I believe that offering opportunities for education can have a great impact and bring light into the world. So, I am donating 20% of all sales from this collection to a student in need. In 2024 I was able to pay the full tuition for a young woman, a Haitian refugee, so she could earn her CNA. Let’s see if we can do even better this year!
